Q: Mr. President the well cap that BP has installed appears to be working. Since you have always contended that from day one you were in charge, what is the next step in securing the well so no additional oil escapes?
A: I have no idea. I mean uh, ur, you know uh, the government doesn’t drill oil wells. Uh, ur, uh, we have to rely on BP to take care of this entire mess and I ur, uh, mean to see them pay for everything. That is why we shook BP down for 20 billion to make sure that everyone who has suffered economically gets compensated.
Q: Mr. President when you say everyone, does that also include the restaurant, I believe it’s in Maine who was shipped an oyster from the gulf region that had a tar ball inside?

On April 20, 2010 the BP oil well in the Gulf of Mexico blew its top killing eleven and injuring seventeen others. The Obama Administration was notified immediately but did little to assist BP in containing the runaway well. Obama kept talking tough, while announcing that BP will be held responsible for the cost of the entire clean up. After about three weeks with no end in sight and mounting criticism as to just who is doing what, Obama announced that from day one the federal government was in charge.
I immediately thought to myself. Since drilling these wells in U.S. waters requires federal permits, and they can’t be approved without a thousand or so different inspections, and if from day one the federal government was in charge of the spill, then why is BP responsible for anything! Just think about it. It’s been several weeks since the Arizona Legislature passed their immigration law that put liberals and the president into a third grade temper tantrum. That’s right, Liberal Democrats and the president have been all over the boob tube telling everyone how unlawful and racist the Arizona people, law enforcement, and the legislature are. I’ve heard one Liberal after another (more…)
